Abstract: Drinking water is one of the basic needs of human and the safety of which is an important element affects public's health and society sustainable development. The application of on-line monitoring and warning of sanitation items of drinking water in every step such as source water intake, drinking water treatment, distribution and water storage could positively prevent water safety accident caused by natural disasters, human error accident and crime. In this paper the application of on-line monitoring and warning system from water sources to taps was summarized and the related technology was also briefly introduced.
