FIC-2008-9 controls the vent stream flow from the degassing column partial condenser E-2009. FY-2008-9 is a multiplier / set point shipper that sends a signal to FIC-2008-9 based on the ratio of degassing column overhead and the column feed as measured on FI-2008-1. The FY has a typical multiplication range of 0 to 0.2 wt% propylene and is typically set at 0.1 wt% (Operator Input) of the propylene in the column feed.

FIC-2008-2 controls the steam rate to the degassing column reboiler E-2010 based on a setpoint provided by column pressure controller PIC-2008-3.
PIC-2008-3 controls the column pressure by cascading signal to the column reboiler steam flow controller, FIC-2008-2. PAH-2008-3 alarms in the control room indicating a high column pressure. PA2H-2008-3 inputs to logic 20-1 closing steam control valve (FV-2008-2) to the reboiler and closing the propylene supply valve HV-2008-8, LV-2008-4, and drain valve HV-2008-10, and alarming in the control room.

3.0 REACTOR C-4001 PROPYLENE FEED CONTROLLER (CONTROL LOOP FIC-4001-1 indicates, controls FV-4001, and records on a control room trend recorder the flow rate of propylene to the reactor C-4001. This controller has manual, automatic and cascade modes.The controller reverts to %upon failure of the remote system. When this occurs an alarm is sounded The controller reverts to manual control upon a failure of the incoming process variable signal.
