PIC-5229-7 is the primary downstream pressure controller. PIC-5229-4 is the secondary downstream pressure controller (PV-5229-4 normally closed). Switch HS-5229-4 is a two position control room mounted handswitch with “AUTO”/”CLOSE” both maintained. The handswitch is provided to close KV-5229-4A and PV-5229-4 and opens KV-5229-4B. When PV-5229-4 is given the open signal, pressure controller PIC-5229-4 takes over and controls the movement of the valve. This requirement is initiated by the “AUTO” position of the switch. When the “CLOSE” position is selected, valves KV-5229-4A and PV-5229-4 close and KV-5229-4B opens.

TIC-5204-2 is a control room mounted temperature controller, equipped with a low and high temperature alarm, to control the temperature of the interchanger cold-end outlet. TV-5204-2 is used to throttle recovered liquid to the interchanger E-5231 by receiving a signal from low-select TY-5204-2. TY-5204-2 compares output signals from TIC-5204-2 and TIC-5231-4. The low signal is chosen to control TV-5204-2. TIC-5204-2 will control TV-5204-2 during normal operation. Valve TV-5204-2 is interlocked to close when compressor (K-5214) is not running. See Logic 52-1 for details.

When in “Cascade” mode, it controls the liquid additive flow rate as a ratio to the speed of the Rader feeder. The change from “Auto” to “Cascade” mode should be seamless, with the “Auto” mode setpoint automatically converting to the “Cascade” mode ratio setpoint that gives the same flow rate.
