Reading this board is worse than watching CNN. Do you people listen to yourselves? \president we can be proud of?\having to perform a religiously correct Islamic burial at sea on a man that killed thousands of Americans and probably tens of thousands of others. Who do you think ordered that? less 22 hours ago | Like (6) | Report abuse

If we truly strike and seek to be better than our foes, and so not let those words ring hollow, we must buttress our claim with righteousness. The pretense of such is a mortar neither quick nor long. Speaking as a soldier, I will echo meddleone that it is not my position nor privilege to comment on my personal feelings regarding any special or general order, but I will venture to say that I will do what is asked of me, and only be too proud to practice the ideals our founders preached. Doing so, irrespective of my own subjective or social sentiment, is the only chance America will have to remain worth dying to defend. less 3 hours ago | Like (2) | Report abuse

Remember little bush removed troops from Afganistan, in a news conference, stated he didn't pay much attention to OBL anymore nad didn't care or OBL was a marginal character. Was the dismissiveness due to the bush families closeness to the Saudi leaders and their oil. 23 hours ago | Like (6) | Report abuse

Probobly not. Bin Laden had made repeated calls for the Saudi's overthrow, and they put a bounty on his head even before we did. 20 hours ago | Like | Report abuse

Justice is served. And let the rest be warned...you kill 3000 of our people and we'll camp 100,000 SOLDIERS in your back yard and wait until you poke your inflated head out of your cowardly hole. $25 million. Keep it! We do this for our American brothers and sisters that lost there lives. Every one of them. United we stand. less 23 hours ago | Like (30) | Report abuse

Nice speech, but critical about use of words.. \pride and we know that pride is the cause of arguments and may be the fall of our hero.

1. As the news reveal the work of this intelligent espionage didn't start with this administration but former administration as well. The foolish use of these words tells us that the President doesn't want to share the glory.

2. The use of the word \the terrorist, the word \Everyone knows every decision stops with the president, should the world know in the speech, that he gave that order?

President should check the brain of his speech writer. less

Guest...he is absolutely due credit. You are the one who is out of line by implying that he didn't carry the huge weight of this. He is after all the president. I do agree with what you

noticed, but I rather think it's a measure of trying to not be robbed of his work as he has by the propaganda machine throughout his whole presidency. He has been treated unfairly. less 21 hours ago | Like (13) | Report abuse ?

I agree with JersyGirl08, you are way off base. How can you say such things? How is it possible that Obama should not get credit for leading and directing this effort. He is President and he is responsible. And he has given full credit to the people that actually carried it all out, as he should. Pride? Yeah, he should have some in this seminal event.

Frankly, I don't see it as pride, but rather as simply stating the facts as they are. He did do this. Sorry if it makes you uncomfortable. You sound ungrateful for his efforts. less 23 hours ago | Like (24) | Report abuse ? JerseyGirl08

Your way off base. The President, any President, must give permission to special forces/military to carry operations that include an assassination. Obama wasn't taking credit, he was letting us know that Navy Seals were acting at his direction, which they are required to do. So, if this military operation were to come under scrutiny by other nations, UN, etc., it is the President, not Navy Seals, who has to answer for it. Also, every US president is also Commander in Chief of our entire armed forces no matter where they're serving. less

I can only wish for the pre-TelePrompTer days of Presidential speeches, but that was very well done. While I don't agree with several of Mr. Obama's policies, this certainly speaks well for his handling of intelligence AND proper coordination with Pakistan. The fact that this was NOT some kind of diplomatic incident was beautifully played. less 1 day ago | Like (6) | Report abuse

Can you make a 600 word speech without the use of a paper or teleprompter.

Those complaining about the teleprompter are always the illiterate ones. Show me any living republican president or candidate who doesn't use a teleprompter. You all are plain pathetic.
