ABSTRACT

Digital Watermark technology is to embed the concealed tag into the multimedia data with the method of Digital signal processing, the mark which is usually not visible but can only be extracted through the special detector or reader. The digital watermark has very broad application prospects in a wide range of fields, involving modification of the identification, classification of data access, data tracking and testing, commercial video radio, charge for the internet digital media and the identification of e-commerce certification. In addition, digital watermark is able to provide the copyright protection, authentication source and data integrity in the open network environment, which seems to be impossible for the cryptography technology.

The objective of this paper is to study the digital watermark embedding, detection, and its robustness. In order to guarantee the authenticity, media data integrity and the effective protection of intellectual property rights, the system which is based on various algorithms will embed the secret information in the form of imperceptible watermark, avoiding the attack intentionally or unintentionally.

Development of the tool is used to document protection and tracking, and want to put an end to the illegal copying, dissemination, and editing. The main function of this program is a digital watermark embedding and detection in the DCT domain on the basis of the chaos and cellular automata algorithms with good watermark invisibility and robustness characteristics. First of all, the chaotic random template with initial value sensitivity and iterative non-repetition is generated by a function. After the processing of cellular automata according to the voting rules, we finally get the watermark template. Then the system will complete the process of watermark embedding when it can embed this watermark template into the DCT coefficients of the original image pixel and get the image with the watermark. For the detection, the system will determine whether the test image contains a watermark by the comparison of the similarity coefficient between the digital watermark template from the original image and the watermark template extracted from the test image. At the same time, in order to make a comparison with the chaos and cellular automata algorithms in the performance of robustness, system will offer the digital watermark embedding and extracting function based on LSB algorithm. The test shows that digital watermark from chaos and cellular automata algorithms can resist to some extent attack, such as the conventional attack, the translation of the shear.
