Difficult Points: Teaching audiotape, flashcards, pictures Aids Teaching Procedure: 个性化设计 warming up: If you are a disabled person, what problems will you meet? Divide the class into groups of three or four. The teacher can design the task for every group. Step1 Group1 lost an arm in an accident. Now what difficulties will you meet? Group 2 lost a leg in an accident. Now what difficulties will you meet? Group 3 is deaf. Group4 is blind. Let the students talk about their problems for five minutes. Then give a report in the class. Come to “THINK ABOUT IT”. Ask some students to talk about the questions in pairs. Then let some Step2 students demonstrate their opinions in class. We may think if we are disabled, we must be very sad, even we want to die. But we must live for our parents and friends. If they lose us, they will not be happy. Let some students to have a talk about this. Look at the picture of Jane. Do you think what’s wrong with Jane? Do you think she is happy? Why? Read the text and let’s learn more about Jane. Encourage the students to ask more questions about this part. S1: How old is Jane? S2: She is forty years old. Step3 S3: What is she unable to do? S4: She is unable to brush her teeth. She can’t run or jump. She can’t make breakfast. S5: Is she married? S6: Yes, she has a daughter and a son. If some students can’t answer some of the students, the teacher helps them. Demonstrate the dialogue in part 2.

Let some students act out the dialogue in front of the class. Step6: Listen to the tape and read after it for several times. Play the tape for several times in order to let them have correct answers. Imagine you are Jane. What difficulties will you meet in your life? Ask some students to answer the questions in class. Do you think when you are happy? Come to “LET’S DO IT”. Divide the class in groups and discuss the questions. Let them demonstrate their opinions freely. The teacher should help them if they are in trouble. Remember them to think about the problem in right ways. Sometimes in the life we don’t feel happy. We even think of death when Sumwe have much trouble. Now let’s look at these disabled people, although mary: they are disabled, they have a happy life. They can do some things even better than us. What can we learn from them? Difficult Points: Teaching audiotape, flashcards, pictures Aids Teaching Procedure: 个性化设计 warming up: Come to “THINK ABOUT IT”. Divide the class into groups of three or four. Talk about the questions. If they think the topics are too difficult for them, the teacher can add the Step1 content: “What do you want to be in the future? Why?” This question is easier than the others. They can talk a lot about the topic. Now lead them talk about the future, the dream and the life. It seems easier now. Listen to the tape and then let the students say the main idea about the text. S1: It deals with the future. S2: They talk about the life. S3: What is success? Step2 S4: Why are people different from animals? Then the teacher sum what they say. It tells us the life’s meaning. It leads us to think about the life. Now we are living on the earth. Some of us are happy. Others are sad. When we are free, we can think about these questions. Read the text. Let they underline the language points of this text. Ask the students to solve the problems. They can use dictionaries and ask the teacher if necessary. The teacher helps them some on the blackboard. Encourage the students to make sentences with the following language Step3 points: succeed in doing sth.; more; make one happy S5: He succeeded in finding a new way to do with the rubbish. S6: We all know he will succeed in the future. S7: Would you like some more?
