? ArcSDE component installation:The ArcSDE component must be installed
on a Windows 32-bit client machine. ArcSDE then makes a direct connection to the DB2 database subsystem on the z/OS. To make this direct connection, DB2 Connect Version 9.5, Fix Pack 5 or above, which includes the DB2 Control Center application, must be installed on the Windows client.
ArcSDE is tested and certified on DB2 Enterprise Server Edition except for ArcSDE for Linux (32-Bit). Other versions of DB2 such as DB2 Workgroup Server Edition and DB2 Personal Edition share a common code base and are supported as long as they meet the ArcSDE requirements listed above.
