ABSTRACT
English abbreviations play a very important role in our daily life. The paper based on the former’s search findings to introduce the four main pragmatic functions of English abbreviations, the infiltration of English abbreviations on the Chinese language and their misuse. The purpose is to awaken readers to the problem of dealing with the relationship between the infiltration of English abbreviations and the purification of the Chinese language.
