1、先行词中有the same修饰时,定语从句也可用that引导,但意思上有区别,as表示与此同类;that表示就是那一个,同物。例如:

I have bought the same watch as you have. 我买了一块和你一样的手表。(我的手表和你的手表很像,但不是同一块。)

This is the same watch that I lost.这就是我丢的那块手表。(这手表和我丢的手表是同一块)

2.such/so…as…和such/so…that…的区别:前者引导的是定语从句,as在从句中充当成分(主语,宾语);后者是引导结果状语从句,意为“如此…以至于…”,在此句型中,as是不充当成分的,因此在判断时关键看从句中是否缺少成分(主语或宾语)。如: This is such an interesting book ______ everybody wants to read. This is such an interesting book ______ everybody wants to read it.

分析这两个句子不难看出,第一个句子是定语从句,因为从句中缺少宾语;第二个句子是状语从句,因为从句中主谓宾齐全。所以第一个空填as,第二个空填that。

3.在whose引导的定语从句中,当whose修饰物时,“whose+名词”相当于“the+名词+of which”或者“of which +the+名词”的形式,如:

The classroom whose door is broken will soon be repaired.=The classroom of which the door is broken will soon be repaired.

Do you like the book whose cover is yellow?= Do you like the book the color of which is yellow?

4. 用those作定语从句的先行词,通常指人,当定语从句中缺少主语时,关系代词用who,定语从句中谓语动词用复数。如:

I’ll never respect thosewhodon’t respect others.我决不会尊重那些不尊重别人的人。 5. one of+复数名词+定语从句的结构,如果one前面有the (only/last/first/right等) 等限定词修饰时,则one是先行词,定语从句中谓语动词用单数,否则先行词是复数名词,定语从句谓语动词用复数。如: .John is one of the students who have the keys.(先行词是students) John is the only one of the students who has the keys.(先行词是the only one)

1. wants→want。定语从句中谓语动词的数应与先行词一致。

3. have→has。当one of+名词复数作先行词时,从句的谓语用复数;但是当one前有the (only) 时,从句谓语要用单数。

4. which→that/which前加in或去掉which。 5. Those后加who。

★ 只能用关系代词that的情况:

1.先行词为all, everything, nothing, something, anything, few, little, much, the one等不定代词时。如:We’ll do all that we can to protect the endangered plants and animals. 2. 先行词被all, every, no, some, any, much, (a)few, (a)little等不定代词修饰时。如: You can borrow any book that you want to read in our school library. 3.先行词被序数词或形容词最高级修饰时,或本身是序数词、基数词、形容词最高级时。如:

This is the most beautiful city that I’ve ever seen. She was the first friend that I made here. 4. 先行词被the only, the very, just, the last, the right,等修饰时。如: This is the very factory that they visited last summer holiday. 5. 先行词是并列结构,既有人又有物时。如:

He talked happily of the writer and his books that interested him.

★只能用关系代词which的情况: ①当关系代词的前面有介词时.

1.A zoo is a park in which many kinds of animals are kept for exhibition. 2.Is this the room in which Mr. White lives? ②在非限制性定语从句中.

1.Crusoe's dog, which was are now very old, became ill and died .

2.More and more people are beginning to learn English, which is becoming very popular in our country.

2. 把for放在looking之后。英语中,有些短语动词,介词或副词不可与动词相分离。又如:look after, run into等。

3. who→whom。尽管在口语中who, whom都能作宾语,但在介词后只能用whom。 4. that→which。

5. that→which。that不可以引导非限制性定语从句。

6. which→that或去掉which。当先行词被all, every, no,some, any, little等修饰时,常用that引导定语从句。

7. which→that或去掉which。当先行词被序数词、形容词的最高级或the only,the very等所修饰时,常用that引导定语从句。

8. who→that。如果先行词既指人又指物时,常用that引导定语从句。

9. which→that或去掉which。当先行词为something, anything,everything, nothing, all等时,常由that引导定语从句。 10. that→which。
