综合英语高级阶段教学大纲
一、高级英语 I.
说明部分：
1、课程的性质、任务：
高级英语课程是继基础阶段的综合英语开设的专业基础课程，是英语专业高级阶段的必修课程。高级英语是一门训练学生综合英语技能尤其是阅读理解、语法修辞与写作能力的课程。课程通过阅读和分析内容广泛的材料（涉及政治、经济、社会、语言、文学、教育、哲学等方面的经典作品），扩大学生的知识面，加深学生对社会和人生的理解和认识，培养学生对经典作品的分析和欣赏能力、逻辑思维及独立思考能力，以巩固和提高英语专业学生的英语语言知识、跨文化意识及英语语言应用能力。
2、教学的基本要求：
本课程教学内容包括：提高学生的阅读及词汇运用能力，要求熟练掌握和使用所学词汇，特别是同义词、近义词的区分和使用，正确理解文章内容和主题思想，抓住文章的要点，分析文章的结构、语言技巧、修辞特点及写作手段；提高学生的表达能力，使其能够用英语解释文章的难点、要点；提高学生的逻辑思维和判断评述能力，使其能够用英语归纳文章的主题思想并能对文章的内容进行简单的分析、评论。同时，通过高级英语的学习，学生能用词典和其他工具书独立解决语言和文化、背景知识方面的难点，增加文化知识，尤其是英语语言国家的背景知识和文化，更好地使语言和文化结合起来。
3、适应年级与学时数：
本课程适用于英语专业本科三年级，从第5学期开设至第6学期，每周4学时，总计
144学时。
4、课程与其他课程的关系：
高级阶段的综合英语是一门训练学生综合英语技能的课程，为英语专业高年级学生进行其他英语专业课程的学习打基础。

6、主要教学方法和设备要求：
该门课程的教授遵循“以学生为主体”、“Learning through doing”等教学原则，以交际法（CLL）为主要教学方法，采用启发、探究、讨论及反思性等教学方式，充分调动学生的学习积极性、主动性，培养学生的独立思考能力。此外，充分利用计算机辅助教学（CAL）教学手段，提高教学效果。
每次课结束时布置口头作业，每章结束时布置笔头作业。要求学生课前预习新课，并准备课堂发言（根据每次课结束时布置的口头作业），课后复习，配以多样的检查方式。平时有不定期阶段测验。期末考试主要采用闭卷考试形式。课程总成绩依据下列权重评定：平时占30%（包括10%的出勤分；10%的口头作业分；10%的笔头作业分），期末占70%。
