词听写、单词造句、句子翻译、应用文写作训练等。任务为课堂上每人/次回答提问、个人英语演讲、小组合作展示、对话表演为主要练习;要求每位同学有个人的自学笔记,由课堂笔记+个人知识难点或单元总结+职业相关英语积累等,以促进学生自身归纳、总结、学习的能力。

六、 课程实施步骤说明

Teaching Procedures: 5 lessons for a unit (180’+45’/ time for teacher) Unit 1 Welcome to L.A.

Lesson 1&2 (70minutes/20minutes) STEP 1: Warm-up (10’/3’)

Explain the title and let the Ss guess what the L.A is 2. Let the Ss example some abbreviations, such as CEO, WHO, CS, LOL

3. Introduce the backgrounds of Beverly Hills, Hollywood and Universal Studios

STEP 2: Skills Practice (15’/5’)

1. Role play: giving some situations about greetings and let the Ss act out.

2. Add some expressions about greetings and making introductions

STEP 3: Consolidation (45’/10’ ) 1. Vocabulary in Context

(1) play a game: one student performs a kind of occupation and other students guess what it is

(2) let the Ss follow the teacher to read the words about occupations

(3) let the Ss listen to the tape and read the occupation

of the people at Hollywood Oaks Apartments

(4) write sentences about three people’s occupations 2. Grammar exercise:

(1)Let the Ss translate some sentences and summarize the rules of present tense-statements and short answers with be

(2) Finish the exercise on P5 STEP 4: Summary and Assignment (2’) 1. Summary

(1) how to make introductions and greetings; (2) how to ask about and identifying people (3) how to talk about occupations

2. Assignment: Recite new word, Make sentence of 5 new words, play the dialog

Lesson 3&4 (70minutes/20minutes) STEP 5: Personal task show (15’)

1.one student gives a speech/a story/a song about everything topic they like on the stage

2. the rest of the Ss discuss what they can learn from the speech or speak out some feelings about the topic 3. teacher gives the speaker a mark and does some comments STEP 6: Last lesson review (0/3’)

Summary the topic they have learnt in last class STEP 7: Knowledge Practice (20’/5)

1. do the dictation to review new words and phrases 2. The teacher says some Chinese or English sentences and let the Ss translate them.

3. let the Ss play a dialog about greetings and make introductions

4. describe their parents’ occupations STEP8: Listening Practice (20’/5)

1. Focus strategy: pay attention to the personal pronoun 2. Listen to the tape and finish the exercise B and C on P9

3. Invite the Ss to read each sentences

4. According to the exercise 1-6A and B, the teacher helps the Ss guess the content and topic of the listening materials

5. Let the Ss listen to the tape and finish the exercise. 6. Listen to the tape again and let the Ss repeat the listening material sentencel by sentence STEP9: Reading Practice (15’/3’)

1.Focus strategy: identifying main ideas--best headings for each paragraph

2.Let the Ss write a postcard in Chinese

3.Help the Ss analyse the postcards and give the Ss several mins. to match each postcard with the correct address.

4.Get the Ss summary how to address the postcard 5.the teacher adds the format of addressing the postcard 6. Give the Ss 10mins to write their home addresses. STEP10: Summary and Assignment (4’) 1.Summary: listening and reading skill

2.Assignment: words, sentence translation or writing exercise

Lesson 5 (40’/5)

STEP11: Quality Practice (15’/5’) 1.Topic discussion

How to build good relationship with your neighbors or classmates

2.Practical translation or writing: STEP12: Group task show and Summary (25’)
