教学内容 Background Information 1.Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation (Twentieth Century-Fox Film Corporation, with hyphen, from 1935 to 1985)—also known as 20th Century Fox, 20th Century Fox Pictures, or simply 20th or Fox—is one of the six major American film studios as of 2011[update]. Located in the Century City area of Los Angeles, just west of Beverly Hills, the studio is a subsidiary of Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. The company was founded on May 31, 1935,[1] as the result of the merger of Fox Film Corporation, founded by William Fox in 1915, and Twentieth Century Pictures, founded in 1933 by Darryl F. Zanuck, Joseph Schenck, Raymond Griffith and William Goetz. 20th Century Fox is a member of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). 2.The Academy Awards, informally known as The Oscars, are a set of awards given annually for excellence of cinematic achievements. The Oscar statuette is officially named the Academy Award of Merit and is one of nine types of Academy Awards. Organized and overseen by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS),[1] the awards are given each year at a formal ceremony. The awards were first given in 1929 at a ceremony created for the awards, at the Hotel Roosevelt in Hollywood. As one of the most prominent award ceremonies in the world, the Academy Awards ceremony is televised live in more than 100 countries annually. It is also the oldest award ceremony in the media; its equivalents, the Grammy Awards (for music), the Emmy Awards (for television), and the Tony Awards (for theater), are modeled after the Academy Awards. 3. Ice Age film series includes Ice Age (2002), Ice Age: The Meltdown(2006), Ice age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs(2009), Ice Age: The Continental Drift. Questions before viewing: 1. Who are the main characters? List the names and tell what they are? 2. What happens to the baby‘s mother? 3. Why does Diego change his mind and begin to help Manfred and Sid? 教学小结 Animated films are often directed to, or appeal most to children, but can easily be enjoyed by all.
