Overall size can vary from 300 to 1000 square meters depending upon the number of bedrooms and type of hotel (business or resort)

The reception desk is made up of designated areas for “Reception” and “Cashier”. Individual desks or islands are preferred to a linear counter.

As a rule the Concierge function will have its own designated area opposite or adjacent. The desk design must allow for a clean and tidy appearance, with all equipment and storage facilities to be out of guest sight. In particular room key storage must be hidden from view. The front desk needs to be integrated in the lobby décor and overall atmosphere.

It should be located near the hotel entrance but its prominence is to be downplayed so as to avoid the front desk being featured as a major element. The back wall of the front desk is to be treated in a very decorative way. There must be adequate space to permit maximum staffing level workflow without hindrance.

Access to the employee side should be from the rear by means of discreet doors screened from view of back office activity. 通过隐蔽门来遮掩后台办公室的活动。

4.8 Concierge礼宾部

The concierge counter should be located in a prime location, well in view from reception area, hotel entry and passenger lifts.

He will provide to guests all information pertaining to their stay, including travel arrangements and entertainment plans where a separate travel and tours desk or shop is not provided.

Normally located near the entry, this is generally a freestanding island counter with a 1 to 2 meters frontage, in decor matching the reception desk. Sufficient shelving and drawer space should be allowed to ensure equipment and supplies are kept out of vie. Ideally there should be adequate space for at least two employees to work simultaneously. Power, telephone and computer capability is required.

Usually positioned near the entrance, with ease of access of baggage trolleys and the like, the storeroom must be completely concealed from the view of persons in the lobby by means of door and screens. The size and capacity is determined by overall room capacity and market requirements. The store must be completely secure and include shelving and hanging storage.

4.13 Lobby Bar大堂酒吧

Normally located as an extension of the lobby, it can be created on a podium on a different level to the surrounding area, and must make careful use of interior design and materials to make the bar exciting and attractive however without being overly themed. Guests should be able to be served seated at the bar counter or seated in comfortable groupings on sofas and /or armchairs with low coffee tables.

通常设置在大堂范围内, 应有不同层次的地面高度,且必须小心地运用室内设计及材料创造出令人兴奋及有魅力的酒吧但不能没有主题。客人可以坐在吧台或坐在带咖啡桌的沙发或扶手椅子。

A piano/band stage is to be provided提供钢琴/乐队舞台.

The bar should be easily convertible into specific events such as afternoon tea, evening soccer…

? One F&B oriented shop (deli shop + refined French items such as wine,

4.15 Library Sofitel索菲特图书馆 - Quiet place安静的位置

- Dimmed and smooth atmosphere柔和及安详的气氛 - Decorative as well as for use装修实用

- Some standard books to be provided (French decoration, fashion, Pairs…) 提供一些标准书籍 (法式装修,风尚)

- Books on local city and attractions.涉及本市的书且有趣的东西

- Artwork, lighting and flowers are essential艺术品,灯光及鲜花是要点

- In some cases, a second library corner can be provided in executive club Sofitel for up market guests.

The business center is ideally located close to the hotel reception 商务中心理想的位置是设置在靠近酒店接待处

Alternatively when space does not allow above location, the business center can be located within the meeting room area.

如果空间不允许,商务中心可以设置在会议室区域内。 The décor should give the impression of an efficient, modern corporate office. Minimum requirement is for a large desk with two visitor chairs and a small seated waiting area with TV and newspapers. Minimum facilities include phones; fax photocopier and computer with industry standard business software plus internet/e-mail access. Typing facilities area provided. A small private meeting room should adjoin the Business Center.

In small hotels, the business center services can be provided by the reception. A business corner is then provided.

This facility is generally required for hotels with greater than 300 bedrooms, having a significant market mix of Conference and leisure groups. It is located just off the hotel lobby, away from the reception desk to reduce crowding and avoid inconvenience to other hotel guests. A separate entrance may be desirable in situations of frequent large group movements.

A small reception counter approximately 1-2 meters in length is required, and must be capable of being securely locked up when not in use. It may be mobile in nature and should have the facility to access the hotel’s computer system. Seating for at least 20 persons should be available.

4.18 Public Toilet公共厕所

Public Toilet must be directly accessible from the foyer and of adequate size to cater for all the activities of thus area. A Toilet is required for disabled persons either in each of male and female toilets, or separately (unisex). Room arrangements and mirrors should be located as to prevent a direct view into the Toilet from outside. Preferably, entry should be through an airlock, having inner and outer doors.

All public toilets in the hotel should be designed to provide a feeling of quality. 酒店内的所有公共厕所应给人以品质的感觉。

Walls and floors should be attractively finished in polished stone or high quality tiles, vanity benches (no individual hand basins) with mirrors provided above. Consideration should be given to the non-slip qualities of the floor. Attractive, adequate lighting should be employed as well as high quality towel dispensers, hand dryers, waste bins etc.

Number required will depending upon the size of hotel and meeting facilities, typically 3-4 are situated in or just off the lobby, one of which should be accessible by wheelchair.
