The oil flows by gravity from VHE Final Oil Heater VHE704 to the distributor in the stripping section of the Deodorizer DEO710. The distributor evenly spreads the oil across the column cross-section, and the oil trickles down the structured packing, where it flows as a thin layer on an extended surface. In the column the oil meets stripping steam in counter-current flow. Volatile compounds such as fatty acids and various odoriferous compounds are distilled off by the joint action of the vacuum and the stripping steam. The counter-current flow regime in the column reduces the amount of sparging steam drastically compared to the traditional tray system.

After heat bleaching, the deodorized oil from DEO710 will flow by gravity to the VHE Economizer VHE703.The deodorized oil is re-generatively cooled down in the VHE703 under vacuum and sparging conditions.Some odoriferous compounds produced in oil

during hot conditions are promptly removed. Citric acid is injected into the oil in VHE703 at temperature below 150oC. The steam in the holding section and the ;VHE703 is directed to form the stripping steam in the stripping section. The oil is discharged by the Economizer Pump P703 and cooled in the Bleaching Economizer E600 (Bleaching Section). After final cooling in the Final Oil Cooler E706, the oil is filtered in the Polishing Filter and sent to storage.

In order to recover fatty acids and other condensable components in the vapour as well as minimize effluent pollution and minimize the load on the vacuum system, vapours from the Deodorizer DEO710 are cooled in the scrubber section. The vapour passes through a packed bed in the scrubber where the fatty acids and other volatiles are condensed by contact with circulated cooled distillate. The recovered fatty acid distillate is accumulated in a tank where the desired level is automatically maintained by controlled discharge to storage. The temperature of the recycled distillate is maintained automatically at about 60篊 in the Fatty Acid Cooler E705.

SHUTDOWN OF DEODORIZING SECTION 脱嗅工段的停车

During shut-down of Deodorizing section, i.e. when there is no regenerative cooling, the oil is cooled by recirculation through the deodorizer. This will ensure the gentle cooling down of the deodorizing system.

Residual bleached oil in Bleached Oil Tank T770 will be operated at low level. The bleached oil will be pumped and heated as normal operation to the deodorizer. The deodorized oil will be regeneratively cooled by heat recovery with the bleached oil in the VHE Economizer VHE703 to temperature about 130篊. As bleaching section has stopped, the Bleaching Economizer E600 will be by-passed and the Final Oil Cooler E706 will cool the oil further to 100篊 (and eventually below 60篊). This oil will be re-circulated back to the,Bleached Oil Tank T770 until the complete batch of oil has achieved the desired quality. Then the final oil heating will be shutdown and the circulation will proceed until the batch temperature reaches below 60篊 and finally sent to refined oil storage. By then, the system temperature will be gently lowered. The slow shutdown duration will take approximately 2? hours. This will ensure the gentle cooling down of the deodorizing system and therefore prevent thermal stress of the

equipments. The deodorizing system should only be exposed to atmospheric pressure only when the temperature in the system is below 60oC. This is to prevent oxidation of the system as well as safety precaution.

CLOSED LOOP COOLING SYSTEM 闭路循环冷却系统

The vapors from the vacuum systems are condensed by recirculating barometric water. The barometric water is recirculated via the hot well to the barometric condensers of the vacuum systems by means of the barometric water pump. Before entering the barometric condensers of the vacuum system the recirculating barometric water is cooled in two of the closed loop coolers by chilled water. This primary cooling water remains clean while the circulating barometric water is gradually polluted by small amounts of fat and/or fatty acids still remaining in the suction vapors from the vacuum systems. To prevent rapid clogging of the closed loop coolers a small amount of lye is added to the water in the hot well via caustic dosing tank and caustic dosing pump. The
