This course is a compulsory course of all the undergraduates.The course comprise the theory and pratise of new democratism revolution ,socialistic revolution and socialistic development. It requests students to grasp the first theoretic results of the integration of Marxism and Chinese revolutionary practice,to grasp the spirit of Maoism, so that students could realize only the CCP can give the emancipation of Chinese people .The emphasis of the course is the theory of new democratism revolution.

As an important part of Marxist theories and thoughts, the discipline of Marxist Economics, with its outstanding standpoint, unique scientific vision and method, has analyzed the human society, the nature of economic relationship, and the development laws of commercial economy.
The course of Marxist Economics aims at systematically introduces the principles of Marxist and Leninism on commercial production together with the economic relationship under capitalism and its development laws. During the lecture, the emphasis will be put on an appropriately combination of theoretical essence with historical process. The teaching method will try to be strict in structure, concise and complete in elaboration, prominent in combining theory with practice.
The whole course is divided into 13 chapters. The major sections include the research object and method of Marxist political and economic studies; Marxist theories on labor value, surplus value, and reproduction. All these theories will be jointly taught with the presentation of practical situations, an analysis of the periodical characteristics of economic relationship in contemporary society, and the examination of the essential distinction and development trend of modern capitalism.

语言的工具性质只有在实际运用过程中才能最好地体现出来，因此本课程以“提高英语听说能力，走向英语实际运用”为目标，力求从本校英语教学的实际情况出发，同时立足于当前多元文化并存的社会现实，培养学生熟练有效地利用英语这一国际通用的语言。
本课程共持续4个学期，在第一个学期之初，根据语言分级考试成绩，将学生的英语水平分成一级、二级和三级。以语言水平为基础，对学生进行分班教学。在不同起点的基础上循序渐进地选用《大学英语》（全新版）（上海外语教育出版社）、《新编大学英语》（外语教学与研究出版社）和《大学英语教程》（北京大学出版社）作为课堂教学材料。
本课程根据主题组织单元教学和学习，教学内容以贴近大学生思维水平和生活经验，同时又具有一定文化影响力和思想深度的听说材料和阅读材料为主。每个单元用8个学时学完，学生在每个单元的学习结束后，会就本单元的主题进行有个人见解的口头和笔头的语言输出。
在课堂教学中，教师是语言学习的主导，担任示范和指导的角色，用多种媒体展示学习材料和讨论主题；学生是语言学习的主体，通过模仿操练，反复认知、模拟实践、自主讨论等课堂活动逐步加强英语学习兴趣，成为自主学习者。
本课程的课堂教学方式灵活多样，围绕每个单元的主题可以有效地形成教师和学生之间的互动，以及学生们之间互动；同时借助现代传播技术和计算机网络技术还可以将教学延伸到课堂之外，进行个性化的广泛的语言拓展体验活动。
本课程的考核包括三部分：单元测验、口语测试，和期末笔试（含听力测试）。三者的比例分别是：20%，10%，70%。
Based on the view that language is in essence a tool of communications in both work and study, the goal of the course is set, which is to improve learners’ listening and speaking abilities and enhance the learners’ language use in authentic situations.
The course covers four academic semesters. At the onset of the first semester, learners enroll in different classes according to the grades they achieve in the placement test. In actual practice, three levels of language proficiency are identified, namely 1st level classes, 2nd level classes, and 3rd level classes. Books used are, respectively, New College English published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, College English (New Edition) published by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press and College English published by Peking University Press.
Both the listening and reading materials chosen in class teaching and learning are authentic materials and are grouped into units in light of topics. The selected thought-provoking materials either reveal various cultural facts of the target language, or demonstrate circumstances similar to learners’ life experience. Diverse teaching methods and approaches are adopted in classes to create interaction between the teacher and learners, as well as interaction between learners themselves. In addition, modern media and the Internet are applied to extend the occasion of language learning out of classes.
The learners’ academic performance in this course is accessed based on three aspects, and accordingly the grade is composed of the same three aspects: the formative unit tests, which account for 20% of the total, the oral test, 10%, and the final exam, which includes listening and accounts for 70%.
