阅读策略在高二英语阅读教学中的应用

内 容 摘 要

在我国基础教育中,提高学生的英语阅读能力是中学英语教学的重要目标之一。但目前英语阅读能力低下仍是中学英语教学中存在的一个突出问题。所以针对这一点,本文作者提出论点:阅读策略培训能有效提高学生的阅读成绩和提高学生的自主学习能力。

本论文共分五章。第一章主要介绍论文的背景、意义并且提出问题。第二章是文献综述,综合概括阅读理论和学习策略的定义、分类及研究发展、学习策略与学习成绩的关系,同时概括了阅读策略。在第三章里,笔者参考文献设计出《英语阅读策略使用情况调查表》,对鄂尔多斯市一中高二两个成绩基本相等的班级的学生英语阅读策略使用情况展开调查,调查发现虽然学生有一定的元认知策略与认知策略知识,但策略使用频率较低,策略使用很盲目,学习效率低下。同时从策略使用的角度对高二阅读教学现状进行了分析,发现阅读教学中存在如下问题:一、教学中的策略意识体现不强;二、教师的策略知识储备不足;三、教学中对学生策略性知识指导偏少。第四章描述了阅读策略培训的实验。在这一章里笔者描述了阅读策略培训的可行性和必要性及培养的方法和途径。本文作者对鄂尔多斯市一中高二两个成绩基本相等的班级的学生进行对比培训实验,其中一个班是实验班(实验组),另一个班是对照班(控制组)。培训的方法是在实验班里对学生先进行阅读策略知识传授,主要讲解元认知策略与认知策略知识,然后结合教学内容进行具体的策略训练。对对照班的学生仍然采用原来的方法进行教学。在对培训之后两班测试成绩及自陈表进行统计、分析的基础之上,本论文作者发现经过阅读策略的培训,学生的学习成绩获得了有效提高,同时学生的自主学习能力也得到了增强。第五章讨论了本研究的实践意义及本研究的不足之处。

Abstract

To improve students? English reading ability is one of the important goals of secondary English teaching in basic education in China. However poor reading performance among the majority of students is still a prominent problem in English learning in secondary schools. Therefore, the author offers the hypothesis that has been illustrated in the paper: reading-strategy training can improve students? reading performance effectively and enhance their self-study ability in English reading.

The paper is divided into five chapters. Chapter one is the background information. Chapter two is the literature review which expounds the definitions and classifications of reading, reading strategy and learning strategy ,and reviews the development of learning strategy study abroad and in China. In chapter three,by integrating documents and personal teaching experience,the author devises “English reading strategy usage questionnaire”. Students in two classes of the same grade in Erdos No. One Middle School are chosen as the subjects. This investigation reveals that although these students have certain knowledge about cognitive strategy and meta-cognitive strategy, still the rate of employing the strategies is quite low and the purpose of applying the strategies in English reading is not clear. Meanwhile, by analyzing the teaching situation from the aspect of learning strategy application in English reading, the author finds the following problems: 1. The teacher?s awareness of applying reading strategies in teaching process is weak. 2. The teachers? strategy knowledge needs enhancement. 3. The teacher?s learning-strategy guidance in English teaching is not enough. Chapter four is about the reading-strategy-training experiment. In this chapter the feasibility, necessity and the methods of the

experiment are expounded. The subjects engaged in the contrastive strategy-training experiment are the students in two classes of the same grade in Erdos No. One Middle School. One class is the experiment group; another class is the control group. The training methods in the experiment group include giving lectures about reading-strategy knowledge and reading-strategy training in English teaching. But the training methods in the control group belong to the traditional ones. At the final stage of the experiment a reading test is carried out. The author collects data for statistic analysis and requires students to vindicate themselves. The statistic results and the vindication reveal that the students? reading performance and their self-study ability in English reading after the strategy training have been improved markedly than these of the students in control group. Chapter five is the conclusion.
