Each joint assembly shall consist of the fitting to be tested and assembled with two consecutive pieces of cross-linked polyethylene pipe cut from the same length of pipe. The total length of pipe shall have a free length (L) between end connections at least equal to 3 times the nominal outside diameter of the pipe, subject to a minimum of 250 mm.
