The procedure shall be as follows: 程序如下:

(a) Secure the joint assembly in the water tank and then fill the tank with cold water. Condition the joint assembly in the tank for 20 +5, ?0 min and, after the con-ditioning period has elapsed, wipe any sign of condensation from the inside of the joint assembly. After a further 10 +5, ?0 min, inspect the inside of the joint assembly to ensure that it is completely dry.

I1 SCOPE I1 范围

This Appendix sets out a method for determining the resistance to pressure of assembled joints of fittings and cross-linked polyethylene pipe.

The following apparatus is required: 需要下列设备:

(a) General The apparatus specified in Appendix C shall be used, except where other apparatus is specified below.

(b) End connections Fittings shall be provided that will make a watertight connection at each end of the joint assembly. One fitting shall be connected to the hydraulic system permitting the joint assembly to be suspended vertically. Fittings of the type illustrated in Figure Il are considered suitable.

Six joint assemblies shall be prepared as illustrated in Figure Il, three for each test temperature. All outlets shall be sealed and rendered watertight with appropriate caps, plugs or blank ends. The free end of each joint assembly shall be unsupported and unrestrained.

应准备如图Il所示的六个连接组件,两种测试温度各三个样品。所有出口都应用合适的盖子、塞子或堵头封住并做水密性处理。各连接组件的自由端不受支撑和限制。 I4 CONDITIONING OF JOINT ASSEMBLIES I4 连接组件的环境调节

At the commencement of conditioning, each joint assembly shall be filled with water. It should be ensured that all air is released from the system. Conditioning may be carried out with the joint assemblies connected to the test apparatus.

各连接组件在调节开始时应充水,应确保所有气体都已从系统中排出。可以在连接组件连接到测试设备上时实施调节。

Three joint assemblies shall be conditioned at 20 ±5°C and the other three at 95 ±2°C for a period of not less than 1 h immediately prior to testing.

The procedure shall be as follows: 程序如下:

(a) Determine the minimum wall thickness and the mean outside diameter of the cross- linked polyethylene pipe to be used with each joint assembly in accordance with the method described in AS 2492, Appendix B. Calculate the internal hydrostatic pressure to be applied from the following equation:

Alternatively, for production control purposes, the values for minimum mean outside diameter (Dm min.) and maximum wall thickness (Tmax.) given in Table 3 of AS 2492, may be used to calculate the test pressure.

(c) Connect a joint assembly to the apparatus provided, if not already connected. Ensure that all

air is excluded.

(d) Apply the internal hydrostatic pressure, reaching the calculated test pressure within 30 s to 60 s of first admitting pressure, and maintain this with an accuracy of ±2% throughout the test.

(e) Maintain the temperature of the test environment in contact with three of the joint assemblies at 95 ±2°C, and at 20 ±5°C for the other three joint assemblies, for the duration of the test (165 +24, ~0 h).
