Jessica: No money? You told me you got a scholarship!

WQ: 就是 buy a lot of things!

Jessica: Oh! You went on a shopping spree! WQ: shopping spree?

Jessica: Right! Spree is spelt s-p-r-e-e. Going on a shopping spree means you spend a lot of money during a single shopping trip.

I went on a shopping spree after getting my scholarship money!

Jessica: But do you really need all the things you bought on the shopping spree?

Jessica: Haha! Actually, in English, we have a similar expression--your money was burning a hole in your pocket.

WQ: My money was burning a hole in my pocket? Jessica: Wuqiong, next time your money is burning a hole in your pocket, take me with you! I'll make sure we only go window shopping! WQ: Window shopping?

Jessica: (Chuckle) No. Window shopping means we only look at the window displays, without really buying anything!

Now tell me what you've learned today!

WQ: 第一,扫货叫go on a shopping spree; 第二,烧包叫money is burning a hole in one's pocket; 第三,光看不买是window shopping!

Donny: Hey, Fang Fang, what's up? Do you like your new job? Donny: 打杂?What do you do everyday?

Donny: Oh! Someone who does small and unimportant tasks at work is called a go-for. g-o-f-o-r, go-for.

Donny: We say they \\

Donny: That's right. I guess you don't really like running errands for your boss, right?

Donny: She gives you a lot of busy work, I'm assuming? The phrase \tasks that keep people busy but are not very useful.

Donny: That's right! Fangfang, a lot of people start as go-fors and work their way up. I'm sure you'll do just fine. Now let's see what you've learned today! FF: 公司里跑腿打杂的小弟小妹叫 go-for; 跑腿是 run errands for others;

You went on a blind date!

Jessica: Yes! if your friend set you up with someone you've never met before, that's called a blind date. Blind dates usually end up bad.

Jessica: In this case, Zhuang Ming, you say \我被人放了鸽子。 Jessica: No. If you \

Donny: There is another expression that also has to do with body parts. It is \ YL: I've got my hands full。

Donny: Exactly. Oh, I just thought of another one---\

YL: I have a lot on my plate? plate, p-l-a-t-e, plate

Donny: Oh, speaking of the word \ pill\
